Ah, the nostalgia of the 60s and 70s! 🤩
Who can forget the charm of going to school during those times, surrounded by a sea of traditions and respect? As the world evolved, some cherished aspects faded, like the robust teacher-student relationship,( I went Grade 1-8 in Catholic school-still remember all my nuns names!) the unyielding value placed on punctuality, uniforms, and the art of handwritten letters. To this day, I am complimented on my handwriting; the “Palmer Penmanship” which was practiced daily writing in cursive🙏
Playing outside every day, despite the weather conditions- and in the snow, my mom putting Wonder Bread plastic bags on our socked feet before we slid into our snow boots🥰
We NEVER had “take out”meals…everything was home cooked-especially our pizza! And we always ate together at a certain time at the dinner table! 🍽
While much has transformed in these six decades, community spirit remains strong. People still rally together for common causes and celebrations, a testament to the endurance of human connection. 🌟 One wish is we foster more love, kindness & respect for human life!
As I reflect on my experiences and continue to foster a healthy, joyful life to hopefully take me beyond my 90th year, I am reminded that what’s truly vital remains unbroken. Let’s cherish it and keep the flame of positivity alive! 🤗
